School Board approves construction contract for replacement Clover Hill High School

The Chesterfield County School Board last night approved a contract for construction of a replacement Clover Hill High School. Kenbridge Construction was the low bidder on the project, winning with a bid of $55.3 million for construction costs. The total projected cost for the new school – including construction, land, site work, technology, furnishings and assorted other costs – is $76.5 million.

Scheduled to open in 2010, the new Clover Hill High will be located off Genito Road and is a close copy of Cosby High. The new Clover Hill High will replace the 34-year-old school located on Hull Street Road.

After the contract is signed with Kenbridge, site work is expected to begin within a month. The project includes drainage work mandated by Chesterfield County that will improve an existing drainage problem in the Brandermill area.
