- Flu Season Tips
Health information
February 2009
Our region is experiencing cases of flu-like and gastrointestinal illnesses. To prevent the spread of illness, the Health Department advises everyone to follow these simple guidelines:
- Cover your mouth and nose with your elbow or tissue when coughing and sneezing.
- Wash your hands frequently.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
- If you or your children get sick, stay home from work, school and other public places until you have been free of fever for at least 24 hours.
- Disinfect doorknobs, light switches, counter tops and other surfaces that are touched a lot.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
