School Board Meetings

School Board generally meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month, except in November and December, when it meets on the second Tuesday only, and July and August when only one monthly meeting is scheduled.

Regular meetings begin at 7 p.m. in the county public meeting room, 10001 Iron Bridge Road. Executive sessions for student discipline and other matters as allowed by law are scheduled, as needed, for 5 p.m. on meeting days and held at the School Administration Building, 9900 Krause Road.

Regular meetings are broadcast live on Comcast channel 17, and announcements are provided to the media when special meetings are scheduled. The meetings are re-broadcast the Monday following the meeting at 9 a.m., and the Tuesday following the meeting at 7 p.m. The School Board also holds quarterly work/planning sessions which are open to the public.

Meeting agendas are available at this site and also at each school and the School Administration Building at 9900 Iron Bridge Road at least one day prior to the meeting.

Following is the procedure by which the public may speak before the School Board at any of the above meetings:

1. Persons wishing to be heard on action items or during the public comment period on the agenda must notify the School Board Clerk's office by 2:00 p.m. on the day of the meeting; they will be heard when each item is considered.

2. Persons who have requested to offer public testimony on items not on the agenda will be heard during the specified public comment period of the meeting.

3. Individuals shall limit their testimony to three minutes. The Chairman may further limit the time allotted to speakers and the number of speakers in order to ensure the orderly conduct of the meeting and the conclusion of the meeting at a reasonable time.

The Chesterfield County School Board retreat that was scheduled for May 1 has been postponed until May 15. It will take place at 4:30 p.m. May 15 in Conference Room 202 of the Instruction Division Center, 600 Southlake Blvd.

QUARTERLY WORK SESSIONS WILL BE HELD ON MARCH 14, MAY 23, SEPTEMBER 26 AND DECEMBER 5.
